English Regents Exam Format
The English exam has a 6 hour time limit and is divided into two (3) hour sessions. Each session consists of 2 parts.

• Session 1/Part A: Listening and Writing for Information and Understanding
• Session 1/Part B: Reading and Writing for Information and Understanding.
• Session 2/Part A: Reading and Writing for Literary Response.
• Session 2/Part B: Reading and Writing for Critical (Literary) Analysis and Evaluation
