Diana ShantyTeacher: Diana Shanty, Scotia-Glenville H.S.


Diana has been teaching Biology at Scotia Glenville high school for over 14 years.  She has also taught Earth Science and Chemistry. She received her B.S. from Siena College in Loudonville N.Y. and a masters in Education from the College of St Rose. She attended Cornell Institute for Biology teachers, a  3 -week molecular biology program sponsored by a grant from the Howard Hughes Institute. She recently designed a 2-year Living Environment class for students needing extra assistance. The course is team taught with a special education teacher. 

  • She attended a meteorology program at NOAA.
  • Member of BALSA and NABT
  • Mentor teacher for new teachers
Enjoys skydiving, scuba-diving, and skiing. Traveled around the world, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, London and France.
